Design Process

Our previous challenger “Cherri” started development as the team’s first fully-electric entry in 2019. With an in-progress accumulator and a frame in the shop, 2019 development was going strong.

Unfortunately, COVID halted progress on Cherri until 2023; engineering resumed wholeheartedly and Cherri drove for the first time that spring.

Cherri barely missed the rules standards of competition in 2023, but a driving electric prototype encouraged the team to shoot for a strong 2024 season with the same chassis. 2024 engineering consisted of a full electrical system rework, redesigning PCBs, wiring, and control systems from the ground up.

After the 2024 Formula Hybrid+Electric Competition, the team decided to invest in a parallel design process, keeping Cherri intact for further development and a reliable 2025 entry. Now, Cherri serves as our testing ground for control systems, tuning and setup, bodywork and aerodynamic experiments, and driver training, ready to drive reliably at a moment’s notice.
